Maxis have always been a style staple for me. I love this style so much. They are comfortable, incredibly flattering, and down-to-earth (literally). In the below picture I’ve put together three looks ft the Maxi dress for 3 occasions..

Secret to soft, healthy skin- Meiji Amino collagen

I am a person who is not really interested in skin whitening, but I like to keep my skin look glowing and healthy. I used Amino Collagen after I ordered it from the website.

This product is really very good for people who want to keep their skin healthy as you can see the effects if you take it regularly. Amino Collagen is a powder that supposedly has some chemicals and ingredients that make the skin healthy, and after you use it, you can see the difference for yourself.

The important thing you need to keep in mind is the fact that your diet should be also kept in check otherwise this product is useless. If you are going to mix this product with oily food it is surely not going to work for you, so you need to control on those things. I initially used Amino Collagen on myself to see if it is safe or not and after I saw that it was a safe product and also a product that works.

Once again, this is only meant for people who want to keep a healthy skin. This product can curb new pimples from coming, but it does not make the existing ones go away. The best thing I liked about this product is that it is very good for softening the skin, so buy it if you want that.

Pros: Good for soft skin

Cons: Expensive

Teeth whitening: DIY

Whiten your teeth

Are the years of coffee and neglect starting to show on your pearly whites? Try these easy natural remedies and get your original smile back.

Try the banana peel treatment. Do not habitually discard the peel once you are done eating; rub the inner part on your teeth for about two minutes. Then brush your teeth with your regular toothpaste 15 minutes later. Do this twice or thrice a week and notice a visible difference. You can also rub a lemon peel on your teeth but do not use this technique more than twice a week. Lemons being acidic can cause the enamel to degrade if used too frequently.

Bring out your inner Bugs Bunny and chew on some crunchy carrots. Carrots help scrape off the built up plaque on your teeth. They also brighten your teeth and give you healthy gums. Baking soda is one ingredient that all dentists agree make your teeth brighter. Baking soda neutralizes acids and helps remove stains. Mix a pinch of salt with baking soda and use your toothbrush to brush your teeth with this mixture. Rinse it off in two or three minutes and enjoy the benefits!

Give these methods a try before you go in for whitening strips and chemical treatments. They’re easy and definitely safe!

The denim on denim look has been around for a while. I’ve seen many celebrities sporting this trend off lately but when I came across this picture of Rihanna, my jaws dropped.
She’s carried off this look so effortlessly and with so much élan. She looks absolutely stunning. So when I entered the Polyvore contest for The look for less- Denim edition. I just knew who my inspiration was going to be.
So take a look at my set and tell me what you think about it. 🙂Denim on denim

Review: L’Oreal Professionel Paris Hairmix Supreme Smooth

Hi Guys!!

So today, I wanted to talk to you about another one of my under loved products. L’Oreal Professionel Paris, hairmix supreme smooth.

This little miracle was actually passed onto me by my mum who didn’t really like it. The idea of this product is to add moisture, tame and smooth your hair whilst giving it that all important heat protection!

I personally love this product but often I forget to use it, recently however, since I’ve been struggling with dry frizzy hair, I have been making a point of using this and my god it has made such an improvement! My hair looks 100x better than before and feels beautifully soft and silky.

The gel/cream feels very nourishing and has a much similar consistency to a conditioner, which as you can imagine is lovely to smooth through your hair. You apply this to shampooed and towel dried hair and then blow dry your hair straight. It smells like a typical salon product and leaves your hair with that salon feel. I genuinely love this product so much, and will 100% be repurchasing this when it eventually runs out! (Which will be forever as this stuff lasts for ages, even through my ridiculously long hair!)

Garnier BB cream Review

I had really liked the original BB Cream as it worked well with my skin despite being a little on the greasier side, which I didn’t mind as I could always set my face with a pressed powder to mattify it- like the Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder. I never realised that the original formula was made in Germany while the sensitive version was made in France! When I first used the Garnier BB Cream for sensitive skin, I actually found it a little difficult to blend into my skin and that it sometimes balled up on my face. It was so hard to work with depending on what skincare products I had put on my face earlier (usually rosehip oil, a moisturiser and sometimes a sunscreen) and the product would constantly rub off into little balls! I found that it made my face more pink than usual, opposing the fact that it was meant to “reduce redness”.

After many uses I found the sensitive formulation to be quite temperamental- sometimes it would stay on, other times it would rub off and leave a mess. However eventually I found a way to minimise the balling up of the product- to use my Real Techniques Buffing Brush or by minimally blending in the BB Cream using my fingers. Because of this, I have to say I like the original formula for normal skin better, as it didn’t have the problem of “balling up” on my face which made it just that much easier to use.

L-R: Garnier BB Cream for normal skin, Garnier BB Cream for sensitive skin
I absolutely love the simplicity and ease in using these BB creams with its natural-looking coverage, perfect for quick morning routines when I want to indulge in a sleep in! I find that its thicker formulation is great for keeping my dry skin moisturised , and any oiliness around my nose was fixed with a little powder and I was good to go. There is also an oily skin version for those with oilier skins which I believe will not have the dewy finish that these BB Cream formulations have.

Have you tried the Garnier BB Creams? What are your go-to products for lazy mornings?

Maybelline Mirrored Mauve Review

Image

The packaging of these glosses is an upgrade of that of the Color sensational glosses…same rectangular packaging but bulkier, same sponge tip applicator but longer and more slanted, and yes, same plain tube with no details on it once the plastic wrapper is peeled off! The shade name is written in minuscule lettering at the bottom of the tube, but it otherwise could easily be mistaken for one of those no-brand low quality lipglosses that you find in local markets. But once you apply it, there’s no chance of mistaking it for a low quality product…Maybelline has come out with a solid winner.

The gloss is very thick, almost like a liquid lipstick. It has a citrusy fragrance that reminds me strongly of the orange-flavoured chews we used to get as kids! The scent is not exactly subtle so you might want to check if you are comfortable with it. It is very pigmented for a lipgloss and goes on semi-opaque in a single swipe. You can layer it on for more coverage, but with more than one layer you get that ‘something on my lips’ feeling. With one layer though, it is absolutely lightweight. And oh, it is completely non-sticky! They weren’t kidding when they named it ‘high-shine’ either…it gives a super-glossy look and actually makes your lips look a tiny bit plumper. It is quite moisturising as well…it softens dry skin on the lips almost like a lip balm. The lasting power, however, is not too great…on me the colour lasts only about two hours max. The glossy feel remains for another hour or two provided I don’t eat or drink anything. It vanishes very easily with meals. The bolder colours might last a bit longer.

Mirrored Mauve is a beautiful dusty pink with a hint of mauve. It would work great for all skintones. I initially thought this colour would wash me out (I have medium to dusky skin), but when I tried it on, I loved how pretty it looked. I am more of a fan of long lasting lipsticks and stains and have somewhat outgrown glossy finishes, but I find myself using this gloss almost every time I go out these days. It looks so good with simple black lined eyes and a hint of pink blush!

Pros of Maybelline Colorsensational High Shine Lipgloss

  • Lightweight
  • Non-sticky
  • Very pigmented
  • Makes lips look plumper
  • Pretty shade that would suit everyone

Cons:

  • The packaging could have been a bit less plain
  • Lasting power is low

TREND ALERT: DISTRESSED DENIMS

CASUAL: For a casual look, you can pair your denim with a casual loose flowy top or tee. Accessorise them with chunky bracelets and necklaces for a playful look.

WORK: At work, be sure not to wear denims that have too many holes or are mightily distressed.

As they can look really shabby at work. Stick to denims that have a patch or two and not messy. Pair it with a blazer or a classic white shirt and you’re good to go.

PARTY: You can pair your denims with a sexy blouse, bustier, shimmery tops or whatever you feel like. Feel free to experiment 😉  Killer stilettos will complete the look.
